February 3, 2007 was Aeneas' 100 Days Birthday. In his honor, we had a wonderful celebration involving 20 of his closest friends. Notably, his Auntie Rachel was visiting to help him celebrate his special day. We thought that we were borrowing from a Korean tradition of celebrating his first 100 days of life with a party where he is presented with several items and the one he chooses to grab foretells his career. As it turns out, this is actually an activity done at the 1 year birthday in Korean culture. That's good because I was a little worried that my baby was either very uncoordinated or that the Korean babies have a major advantage. Nonetheless, when presented with several items he went for the stethoscope.

I tried very hard to get him to hold on to the baseball, but he just wouldn't...
As soon as he grabbed the stethoscope he not only picked it up, but he held it as high over his head as little arms would reach - as if in a triumphant show of achievement.
Dear Aeneas,
I miss you so, so, so much; I feel so lucky to have been there for your 100th day and your decisive selection of a career. I can't wait to see you and your mamma and pappa again.
Love,
Auntie Rachel
