CDMX: Coyoacán Neighborhood

The Frida Kahlo Museum (Casa de Azul) had a really long line. So, we went to the Leon Trotsky Museum and a dangerous playground instead.

Parenting fail: After Jared and I commented to each other multiple times about how this type of playground equipment and ground covering is no longer allowed in the U.S. for good reasons, I forced Aeneas to do the monkey bars resulting in a fall in rough gravel and a lot of bleeding.

Halloween 2017

Another amazing Halloween in Culver City. Another amazing Halloween for Aeneas to dress as a wizard and pretend like he's not in costume.

Aeneas Turns 11!

He asked for "a barrel" for this birthday. I said, "Come again, a barrel?" He said, "yeah, to sit in and feel cozy while I read."

Amazon doesn't carry barrels. They do, however, have Pea Pods. He is very pleased. Temple Grandin should be proud.

March for Science

They are smiling proudly because they are the only ones holding sign with appropriately cited data at the March for Science.

**Virtually all the important, innovative vaccines introduced in the past 25 years were created by public sector research institutions (Stevens, et al., NEJM, 2011)

**10% of NIH grants lead to patents and 30% of NIH grants are cited in articles for patents. These patents are for new drugs, medical devices, and medicine-related technology. (Li, Azoulay, Sampat, Science, 2017)
