A raven swoops down from the electric wire running behind a set of two-story row houses.
Raven: What are you doing in my alley?
Emily: I'm just trying to clear my head.
Raven: Is there something bothering you? Why is your head unclear?
Emily: My head is simply full of arteries, nerves, muscle & bone. It's the words, they just swirl about. Tensor Veli Palatini, Tensor Veli Palatini, Ptergomandibuler, Ptergomandibuler...
Raven: Oh yes, I see, it's been some time since a young mother in medical school has found her way back here to see me. But tell me, dear young lady, what it is that really keeps you up at night?
Emily: It's my precious baby, he just eats and eats and eats. I love him so much, but I'm afraid he's sucking the life force right out of me. He's growing so fast, I can barely keep up!
Raven: But you can keep up, can't you? I can see it in your smile. Your baby is very lucky to have you. Go on, go home to your husband and child, there waiting for you.
Emily: Thank you Raven! This is a great way to start my day!
Raven: Come back whenever you need a friendly ear...
